This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Act as a messenger and bearer of faith, mission, and purpose.
• Engage with businesses, employees, and the community while showcasing personal and spiritual discipline.
• Conduct regular visits to company worksites, typically on a weekly basis.
• Cultivate trust and friendship with employees through Christian ministry.
• Visit employees and their immediate family members in hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, residences, and other care environments.
• Offer confidential pastoral discussions concerning family matters, divorce, illness, aging parents, death and grief, parenting, finances, and other personal concerns.
• Provide referrals and coordinate specialized support for employees and their families.
• Assist in planning, conducting, or attending funerals and offer grief follow-up support.
• Make jail visits when necessary.
• Deliver notifications of death and serious injuries, providing support to affected families and employees.
• Offer post-termination care for employees who have been laid off or terminated.
• Facilitate spiritual enrichment activities when suitable.
• Provide literature and resources addressing life issues.
• Represent companies to clients or customers during significant illness, accidents, traumatic events, and funerals.
• Participate in new employee orientation and explain the Employee Care Service and the Chaplain Team.
• Perform additional tasks as requested by company executive leadership with the approval of the Executive Director of Operations.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary group and in a multi-faith environment.
• Willingness to accept various lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
• Strong listening and interpersonal interaction skills.
• Capable of delivering community presentations.
• Ability to effectively engage with family members and staff in high-stress situations.
• High respect for the dignity and worth of clients, employees, and their families.
• Competence in managing stressful situations and accurately documenting per standards.
• Spiritual maturity and commitment to a Christian lifestyle and MCHAP Ministry values.
• Basic understanding of the Holy Bible and its appropriate application.
• Saving faith in Jesus Christ and active involvement in a biblically based church.
• Professional interaction skills, including diplomacy, patience, and courtesy with diverse groups.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective cooperative working relationships while providing exceptional customer service.
• Capability to make administrative and procedural decisions on sensitive and confidential matters.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Emotional resilience to handle human suffering, emergencies, and other pressures.
• Proficiency in analyzing information, following up on issues or objectives, identifying solutions, and resolving problems.
• Ability to interpret policies and procedures and keep others informed.
• Proficient in computer applications including Google Suites, Microsoft Office, internet, email messaging, and web-based software.
• Willingness to learn new technology programs.
• Active state driver's license and state-minimum auto insurance in the states where clients are served.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
• Bilingual in Spanish is required.
• Part-time schedule with assigned hours typically consistent from week to week.
