This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
β’ Take ownership of the entire sales process from self-generated leads to finalization, promoting Mercury's working capital solutions (term loans and rolling lines) to high-growth brands with annual revenues ranging from $20M to $500M.
β’ Develop and sustain a robust pipeline through self-prospecting, outbound marketing initiatives, and strategic networking efforts.
β’ Conduct thorough discovery sessions to comprehend a business's growth trajectory, cash flow patterns, and capital requirements, then collaborate with underwriting to create attractive, credit-compliant offers for complex, high-value transactions.
β’ Foster agreement among underwriting and the executive team to advance deals without compromising credit quality.
β’ Oversee lengthy, multi-stakeholder deal cycles that involve founders, CFOs, and existing lending or banking relationships.
β’ Negotiate deal terms that are mutually beneficial for both the business and Mercury, ensuring a balance between growth aspirations and credit discipline.
β’ Recognize and pursue opportunities to enhance relationships with other Mercury offerings, including banking, credit cards, and treasury services.
β’ Provide market and customer insights that influence how Mercury approaches underwriting and pricing of working capital over time.
β’ A minimum of 3 years of quota-carrying, deal-closing experience in selling credit, lending, or capital products within a fintech lender, bank business/commercial lending division, or a similar organization.
β’ Proven history of closing transactions with businesses generating significant revenue, typically starting at $20M and ideally reaching into the tens or hundreds of millions, particularly in ecommerce or related sectors.
β’ Strong grasp of credit fundamentals, encompassing cash flow, underwriting considerations, and deal structuring.
β’ Experience in managing intricate, multi-stakeholder sales cycles that necessitate internal alignment across underwriting, credit committees, and leadership.
β’ Capacity to self-generate a sales pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking, and relationship cultivation.
β’ Familiarity with MEDDICC or a comparable sales methodology is preferred but not mandatory.
β’ Ability to comprehend the financial operations of growing businesses and effectively address their capital needs.
β’ Prior experience in selling credit and lending products within a fintech lender or bank environment.
β’ Experience overseeing deal cycles that span several months and involve term sheets along with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
β’ Capability to interpret underwriting decisions and adjust deals as necessary.
