Linguist – Latvian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latvia.

📋 Description

• Translate materials between English and Latvian while maintaining cultural nuances and clarity.

• Edit and enhance language content for precision, tone, and contextual relevance across various digital platforms.

• Implement current language standards, usage trends, and best practices.

• Assess and deliver structured feedback to enhance language model quality.

• Collaborate with Production and interdisciplinary teams to localize content for Latvian-speaking audiences.

• Assist in content development, localization, and quality assurance for digital tools and applications.

• Creatively transform source material through transcreation when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in Latvian.

• Graduate degree in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR a graduate degree in another discipline along with 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.

• Capability to adhere to terminology and reference materials accurately.

• Consistent availability and dedication to delivering quality work on schedule.

• Most tasks necessitate a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week.

• Updated CV in English.

• Ability to undertake a domain-specific test if necessary.

• Contractors must adhere to geographic restrictions concerning international embargoes or sanctions.

• Contractors are accountable for their own tax obligations.
