Freelance Translator, English to Japanese

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Convert English content into Japanese within the Medical Benefits sector

• Become part of a dedicated group of preferred language specialists focused on delivering high-quality MedBens translations

• May involve translation, post-editing of machine translations, and proofreading/quality management tasks

• Undertake Translation, MTPE, and Proofreading/QM assessments to evaluate capabilities

• Operate under stringent deadlines while upholding professionalism and meticulous attention to detail

• Collaborate with TransPerfect clients as a freelance translator

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a native Japanese speaker

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

• Demonstrated experience in translating content related to Medical Benefits

• Exceptional attention to detail, including spelling and grammar

• Ability to maintain professionalism when working under pressure

• Candidates should meet one of the following criteria: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies (or an equivalent qualification with substantial translation training) from an accredited higher-education institution; 2 years of translation experience coupled with a college degree; 5 years of translation experience without a college degree; or a recognized certificate of competence in translation from a relevant governmental authority

• Must be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement

• Capability to complete Translation, MTPE, and Proofreading/QM assessments

• Latest CV should detail relevant Translation, MTPE, and Proofreading/QM experience along with the proposed best per-word rate in USD for Translation, MTPE, and Proofreading
