Chaldean Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct on-demand telephone interpreting sessions

• Convey the meaning of conversations between Chaldean and English speakers

• Serve clients in various sectors including healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, general business, law enforcement, court, and emergency services

• Respond swiftly and perform interpretation in a courteous, professional manner

• Deliver accurate concepts and meanings in accordance with interpretation protocols

• Articulate clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and enunciation

• Maintain a professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions

• Stay composed during challenging or emergency calls, including 911 situations

• Adhere to punctuality and availability during working hours

• Follow client guidelines and interpretation protocols

• Utilize appropriate terminology and comprehend procedures across various industries

• Show cultural sensitivity in a diverse work environment

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Chaldean and English, with an understanding of their cultural nuances

• Capability to provide cultural competency and evaluate regional and accent variations

• Exceptional listening, retention, and note-taking abilities

• Skill to remain neutral and objective during sensitive discussions

• Flexibility to adapt to enhancements in LanguageLine Solutions technology

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Legally permitted to work in the United States

• Must hold work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship now or in the future

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification

• Ability to read and write in the requested languages is highly preferred

• Dedicated personal device for business tasks

• Desktop or laptop with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS, or an acceptable tablet/smartphone

• High-speed internet connection with a minimum of 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, a ping no greater than 300 ms, and jitter no more than 30 ms

• Access to a quiet environment free from background noise or distractions

• Capability to operate a keyboard, mouse, and company software and systems

• Adequate manual dexterity for typing or writing

• Ability to lift up to 26 lbs

• Background check and/or drug screening may be required based on location
