English-Portuguese OPI/VRI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Facilitate effective and precise communication between individuals who speak English and Portuguese.

• Provide consecutive interpretation services in various settings including medical, social services, customer care, and finance.

• Ensure interpretation is delivered in a professional, impartial, confidential, and accurate manner.

• Operate in a hybrid role encompassing Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI) and Video Remote Interpretation (VRI).

• Manage calls and remain accessible in the queue during designated logged-in hours.

• Achieve established standards for performance, quality, attendance, schedule adherence, and operational procedures.

• Fulfill technical verification and client onboarding requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of six months of verifiable professional experience in providing remote English-Portuguese OPI and/or VRI interpretation.

• Advanced fluency in English at a minimum C1 level, with strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Native or native-level fluency in Portuguese, coupled with excellent comprehension and active listening skills.

• Capability to deliver accurate, comprehensive, impartial, and professional consecutive interpretation.

• Strong understanding of medical, financial, and social service terminology.

• Awareness of patient privacy, confidentiality, and HIPAA-related regulations.

• Exceptional attention to detail, active listening skills, emotional composure, and the ability to maintain neutrality in sensitive circumstances.

• Dedication to attendance, adherence to schedules, quality standards, and established operational procedures.

• Ability to work independently in a quiet, professional environment.

• A reliable wired internet connection directly linked to a router or modem; Wi-Fi connections are not accepted.

• A client-approved USB headset; Bluetooth headsets, mono headsets, and built-in microphones are prohibited.

• A computer equipped with an Intel Core i5 processor, 6th generation or newer.

• A webcam with a resolution of 720p or 1080p.

• An up-to-date browser such as Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox.

• A quiet, distraction-free workspace suitable for confidential interpretation sessions.

• Availability to complete recruitment, technical verification, and client onboarding prior to the assigned start date.
