Engineering Manager, Machine Learning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the mission, execution, team morale, and code quality within the Machine Learning Engineering team.

• Collaborate with product managers to sustain and implement the product roadmap.

• Eliminate obstacles, enhance processes, and delegate tasks effectively.

• Foster community and culture throughout the engineering organization.

• Mentor, inspire, and enhance the team while leading by example.

• Advocate for and advance innovation at ZipRecruiter while promoting ambitious ideas.

• Direct a Machine Learning Engineering team focused on creating scalable products for ZipRecruiter’s online employment marketplace.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in a dynamic software development environment at scale.

• At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role within software engineering.

• Proven expertise in applying, developing, and deploying ML models that drive significant business results.

• Preferred: More than 3 years of hands-on experience with AI, ML systems, or leadership of MLE teams.

• Preferred: Proficiency in recommender systems, personalization, search, ranking, and/or matching.

• Preferred: Documented experience in innovating unique approaches and solutions to complex problems.

• Preferred: A degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline (BS/MS/PhD).
