This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +6 more states.
• Drive growth across Baker Tilly’s Tax, Assurance, and Consulting divisions.
• Discover and cultivate new business prospects nationwide within the Higher Education and Not-for-Profit sectors.
• Establish, manage, and enhance client relationships.
• Concentrate on the Digital Services range of solutions.
• Collaborate with senior management on strategic initiatives, market trends, emerging opportunities, potential new service offerings, and regulatory influences.
• Comprehend and convey industry service offerings throughout the Higher Education and Not-for-Profit landscape.
• Act as a Value Architect™ and promote Value Architect™ practices and activities.
• Create a client-facing pipeline and oversee, lead, or engage in client pursuits.
• Formulate sales strategies and report weekly progress to senior management.
• Employ sales tactics including cold-calling, client visits, client entertainment, email marketing, conferences, tradeshows, and speaking events.
• Identify and utilize technical, recruiting, executive, and marketing resources to grasp client needs and finalize deals.
• Maintain and enhance existing client relationships while ensuring client satisfaction.
• Provide counsel to senior management regarding IT trends, products, tools, pricing, and federal requirements pertinent to Higher Education and Not-for-Profit.
• Negotiate service agreements and statements of work, covering pricing and hourly rates.
• Ensure Salesforce CRM compliance, document opportunity activities, and keep the qualified-opportunity pipeline updated.
• Deliver weekly sales updates to senior management.
• Manage sales travel and client entertainment expenses judiciously.
• Stay informed about Baker Tilly competencies, consultants, and project history.
• Track industry, client, prospect, news, and social media trends to uncover opportunities.
• Represent Baker Tilly in sales meetings, conferences, tradeshows, and user-group gatherings.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent years of experience in place of a degree.
• Over 10 years of experience in industries focused on Higher Education and/or Not-for-Profit.
• Proven experience in selling Digital Services to Higher Education and/or Not-for-Profit sectors.
• Familiarity with clients' operating environments and back-office technologies such as CRM, SIS (Student Information System), ERP, HCM, Analytics, etc.
• Experience working with Alliance/Channel partners is preferred.
• A strong network of connections within the Higher Education and Not-for-Profit sectors.
• Experience in selling tax, assurance, and/or consulting services within Higher Education and Not-for-Profit is preferred.
• Exceptional sales abilities with a demonstrated history of meeting KPIs.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to build rapport with internal Partners, Senior Management, and stakeholders of varying expertise levels.
• A driven and ambitious individual with a strong desire to achieve success.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is required.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% as necessary.
