This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Implement a go-to-market strategy and leverage an existing network to establish partnerships with shippers and carriers.
• Acquire 2 to 6 new shipper accounts within the first month.
• Strengthen current relationships through strategic account management, new freight lanes, and cross-selling opportunities.
• Scale accounts to handle 100 to 150 monthly loads within the first 60 days.
• Optimize carrier capacity utilization and set load volume targets.
• Formulate and execute freight brokerage strategies utilizing market insights, trends in carrier capacity, and shipper demand patterns.
• Develop rate proposals and freight solutions.
• Negotiate terms to safeguard margins while fostering long-term partnerships.
• Work in conjunction with operations, dispatch, and compliance teams to ensure successful load execution, timely delivery, and service excellence.
• Direct freight rate negotiations, service level agreements, and the development of carrier contracts.
• Evaluate KPIs including load volumes, freight margins, customer acquisition costs, and revenue performance.
• Utilize data to guide strategic choices and showcase measurable impact within the first 90 days.
• Over 5 years of direct experience in freight brokerage.
• Proven ability to source, qualify, and secure new partnerships with shippers and carriers.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Established and active professional network of shippers and carriers.
• Documented history of acquiring 2–6 new shipper accounts each month.
• Demonstrated skill in freight rate negotiation, load pricing, and developing carrier contracts.
• Extensive knowledge of freight market dynamics, trends in carrier capacity, lane economics, and regional shipper demand patterns.
• Proficient in Transportation Management Systems (TMS), load boards, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical skills and experience in interpreting freight metrics and customer acquisition costs.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Driven, entrepreneurial mindset with a record of generating measurable new revenue.
• Preferred: A broad personal network within the freight brokerage industry.
• Preferred: History of surpassing new account acquisition quotas or revenue goals.
• Preferred: Knowledge of freight compliance requirements, DOT regulations, and industry best practices.
