This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee all elements of patient enrollment, reimbursement procedures, and service coordination.
• Offer drug coverage assistance to both physicians and patients.
• Follow up on submissions to private and provincial drug plans.
• Ensure prompt access to prescribed treatments.
• Provide ongoing patient support and assistance with therapy access.
• Enroll patients in the Patient Support Program.
• Collaborate with patients, insurers, and physicians regarding documentation for reimbursement coverage.
• Investigate public and private insurers and support employer escalations.
• Review patient charts, prior therapies, and tests to assist physicians with coverage documentation.
• Supply therapy guidelines and program education.
• Conduct assessments of patient financial eligibility.
• Coordinate and monitor patient services.
• Report Adverse Events and Severe Adverse Events in compliance with approved SOPs.
• Maintain service levels in case management and program KPIs.
• Update the CRM with patient and clinic details.
• Collaborate with internal patient support teams.
• Engage with and provide feedback to the Program Manager.
• Identify coverage challenges and relay them to program leadership.
• Complete timesheets, expenses, mileage, and CRM documentation.
• Perform additional responsibilities as directed by the Manager.
• A Bachelor’s degree.
• 2-3 years of experience in a Patient Support Program.
• Bilingualism in English and French is mandatory.
• Experience with reimbursement billing, special access, the appeals process, and field-based reimbursement support and consultation is advantageous.
• Familiarity with the private and public reimbursement structure, systems, and processes is beneficial.
• Experience in rare diseases is considered an asset.
• Advanced understanding of the pharmaceutical distribution industry.
• Ability to work from home with a quiet, private office space is required.
• Strong analytical skills, including the interpretation of regulations and legislation.
• Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Proficient typing skills and capability to be a strong functional user of various computer-based programs.
