z/OS System Programmer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Install, configure, and sustain z/OS along with its associated software components.

• Execute builds, migrations, refreshes, CPU swaps, and LPAR build/decommission projects.

• Provide 24x7 on-call support and engage in disaster recovery drills.

• Manage security profiles, access control, and I/O configurations.

• Analyze system performance utilizing SMF data.

• Maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles.

• Lead and mentor a remote team spread across several EU countries.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in z/OS system programming.

• Strong understanding of z/OS architecture, system commands, utilities, and troubleshooting techniques.

• Familiarity with system management tools and automation.

• Proficient level of English.

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

• z/OS certification or a degree in a related field.

• Experience with JES, IMS, and CICS.

• Knowledge of REXX or COBOL.

• Experience with cloud-based mainframe environments.
