Engineering Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain data scraping tools and ingestion pipelines for government data sources throughout the United States

• Utilize internal tools and AI agents to identify sources, create extraction strategies, and expedite implementation

• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability prior to platform ingestion

• Monitor current sources, troubleshoot failures or changes, and enhance scraper robustness

• Document source behaviors, extraction methodologies, and data quality assessments

• Assist with additional technical and operational tasks across the organization as required

⛳️ Requirements

• Students in their third or fourth year of undergraduate studies and recent graduates

• Proficiency in TypeScript

• Knowledge of Python is beneficial for data collection and analysis

• Experience with web scraping or browser automation tools such as BeautifulSoup, Playwright, or Selenium

• Comfortable working with HTML, APIs, structured and unstructured data, JSON, and CSV formats

• Strong focus on detail and commitment to data quality

• Familiarity with Git, debugging processes, and producing clear technical documentation

• Interest in leveraging AI agents while rigorously validating their outputs

• A keen interest in public-sector data and determination when dealing with inconsistent websites and source formats

• U.S. citizenship or other U.S. person status is required due to U.S. export-control regulations
