WordPress Layout Builder, Site Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop pages across various WordPress sites utilizing a block-based content editor.

• Convert structured content from non-technical personnel into refined pages that adhere to the client's brand standards.

• Ensure consistency in layout and styling across a large number of pages and both sites.

• Confirm that pages display correctly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

• Identify areas where current blocks do not meet layout requirements and communicate these to the client team.

• Collaborate directly with client stakeholders to review pages, collect feedback, and implement revisions.

• Monitor and update progress using a project ticket management tool.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in constructing production pages using the WordPress block editor (Gutenberg, Layout Builder, Elementor, etc.), including working with custom or pre-built block libraries.

• Strong understanding of layout principles - including spacing, typography, visual hierarchy, and responsive design.

• Proven ability to manage content and media in high volumes without compromising accuracy or consistency.

• Ability to work within an existing design system rather than creating a new one.

• Self-motivated; capable of transforming organized content into a finished page independently without daily oversight.

• Excellent communication skills in English; required to participate in regular calls with non-technical staff and explain concepts clearly.

• Comfortable working within the Pacific Time Zone with significant daily overlap for review meetings.

• Nice to Have: Experience with migrating from Drupal to WordPress.

• Nice to Have: Knowledge of Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and flexible content layouts.

• Nice to Have: Experience collaborating with an external development agency.

• Nice to Have: Familiarity with WordPress multisite.

• Nice to Have: Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) as they relate to page structure.

• Nice to Have: Basic skills in image optimization and media library management.

• Nice to Have: Familiarity with Figma or similar tools for referencing design specifications.
