Substation Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide technical drafting and design assistance for infrastructure-related projects while supporting a designated group of engineers and technicians with minimal supervision.

• Create and develop plans for various infrastructure initiatives.

• Produce precise 3D models using the specified software platform.

• Leverage expertise in design and 3D modeling to offer technical support to fellow technicians.

⛳️ Requirements

• A two-year technical degree in Technical Drafting or a similar field is required.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in infrastructure-related roles is necessary.

• Proven proficiency and experience with 3D software applications, including AutoCAD, Inventor, Bentley, Solidworks, Revit, and SketchUp.

• Familiarity with graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop is advantageous.

• Capability to learn and effectively implement company, client, and project standards and procedures.

• Strong ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members.

• Extensive drafting experience in substation electrical equipment layout, conduit design, grounding design, lighting design, lightning protection design, protection one-line diagrams, schematics, and interconnection wiring diagrams using AutoCAD.

• Comprehensive understanding of site layout logistics relevant to substation equipment layout for efficient drafting and construction ease.

• Knowledge of MicroStation is an added advantage.

• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

• Excellent organizational and communication skills to ensure timely project completion.

• Ability to work independently is essential.

• Shows willingness to embrace innovation by adopting and utilizing emerging technologies and AI tools to improve workflows, address challenges, and promote continuous improvement.

• Must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States.
