This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Collaborate within small, hands-on teams during the on-site execution of MCU/UTR tasks.
• Carry out Main Component Upgrade activities as directed by the MCU Lead, which includes significant crane operations.
• Assess major components for any damage and ensure the correct turbine setup.
• Verify and confirm inventory, tools, parts, and other necessities required for MCU tasks.
• Understand and apply GE manuals, specifications, bulletins, and work instructions.
• Finalize documentation and gather data for MCU/UTR execution reports.
• Execute work in accordance with JSA, LOTO, EHS, and related policies and procedures.
• Report any errors, violations, incidents, and issues using GE reporting systems.
• Submit engineering inquiries and address questions from management, engineering, sourcing, and project teams.
• Make decisions regarding conformance or non-conformance post-inspection and document findings.
• Participate in weekend and night shifts as necessary.
• Conduct high-voltage switching operations according to site protocols.
• Complete necessary EHS training and assist with investigations and audits.
• Trade-qualified Mechanical tradesperson with an aptitude for electrical work.
• Skilled in diagnosing faults in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience in operations and maintenance of wind farms, including installation and heavy-lift main-component exchanges.
• Intermediate computer literacy.
• Must be eligible to work in Australia as an Australian permanent resident, Australian citizen, or New Zealand citizen at the time of application.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically or internationally for work and training.
• Capability to perform physically demanding tasks at heights.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in the wind farm industry is highly advantageous.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• GWO/GWO ART certification.
• Dogging, rigging, and Franna licenses.
• Willingness to work across various time zones and respond to communications outside regular working hours when required.
• 3 weeks on, 1 week off roster.
