This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee offshore teams engaged in the installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, maintenance, and fault resolution of LV and HV electrical systems for wind turbines.
• Carry out and manage commissioning tasks adhering to approved method statements, risk assessments, commissioning protocols, and GE Vernova safety systems.
• Assist with work involving power converters, transformers, HV/LV switchgear, circuit breakers, protection systems, and LV control systems.
• Analyze and apply electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications effectively.
• Aid senior engineers during energization, functional testing, and handover processes.
• Accurately complete commissioning documentation, testing records, and non-conformance reports.
• Identify LV and HV electrical faults using the appropriate testing and diagnostic tools.
• Direct fault-finding efforts through systematic root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering and technical support teams to address complex challenges and implement corrective measures.
• Ensure adherence to GE Vernova and industry electrical safety regulations.
• Carry out switching, electrical isolations, and work control within authorized parameters.
• Perform task-specific or last-minute risk assessments and toolbox discussions.
• Supervise and mentor Electrical Technicians.
• Foster continuous improvement through lessons learned and feedback on procedures.
• Completion of an Electrical or Wind Technician apprenticeship, diploma, or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience working with LV and HV electrical systems.
• Demonstrated HV switching experience on 11 kV and 33 kV systems.
• HVWP1 City & Guilds certification or equivalent qualification.
• Established experience in commissioning, electrical service, or related field execution activities within wind or similar industrial settings.
• Proven capability to lead technical teams in field environments.
• Strong skills in interpreting and validating electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Practical experience with electrical testing, measurement, and diagnostic tools.
• In-depth knowledge of protection systems, electrical safety regulations, and commissioning practices.
• Experience leading commissioning electrical teams offshore in wind, oil and gas, or other marine high voltage environments.
• Familiarity with working within an MV or HV electrical authorization framework.
• Experience conducting HV switching on systems up to 72 kV.
• Strong technical judgment and a disciplined approach to safe offshore execution.
• Ability to lead technical teams, uphold discipline offshore, and enhance technician skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities with technicians, engineers, and technical support personnel.
• Commitment to procedural adherence, continuous improvement, and learning from experiences.
• Additional relevant certifications such as HV Safety, Electrical Authorization, or Certified Electrical Technician.
