This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee offshore teams responsible for the installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of LV and HV electrical systems for wind turbines.
• Implement and supervise commissioning operations in accordance with approved method statements, risk assessments, commissioning protocols, and GE Vernova's safety systems.
• Assist in work involving power converters, transformers, HV/LV switchgear, circuit breakers, protection systems, and LV control systems.
• Analyze and utilize electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Provide support to senior engineers during energization, functional testing, and handover procedures.
• Finalize commissioning documentation, test records, and non-conformance reports.
• Identify LV and HV electrical faults using suitable testing and diagnostic tools.
• Lead fault-finding efforts utilizing a systematic root-cause analysis method.
• Collaborate with engineering and technical support teams to address complex challenges and implement corrective measures.
• Ensure adherence to GE Vernova and industry electrical safety regulations.
• Perform switching, electrical isolations, and control of work within authorized limits.
• Execute task-specific or last-minute risk assessments and conduct toolbox discussions.
• Supervise and guide Electrical Technicians.
• Encourage continuous improvement through lessons learned and procedural feedback.
• Completion of an Electrical or Wind Technician apprenticeship, diploma, or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience working with LV and HV electrical systems.
• Established HV switching experience on 11 kV and 33 kV systems.
• HVWP1 City & Guilds certification or equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in commissioning, electrical service, or related execution activities in wind or similar industrial settings.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams in field-based environments.
• Strong proficiency in interpreting and validating electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Practical experience with electrical testing, measurement, and diagnostic equipment.
• Comprehensive understanding of protection systems, electrical safety regulations, and commissioning methodologies.
• Experience leading commissioning electrical teams offshore in wind, oil and gas, or other marine HV environments.
• Familiarity with MV or HV electrical authorization frameworks.
• Experience with HV switching on systems up to 72 kV.
• Strong technical judgment and disciplined approach to safe offshore execution.
• Capability to lead technical teams, maintain discipline offshore, and enhance technician skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities among technicians, engineers, and technical support teams.
• Commitment to procedural adherence, continuous improvement, and learning from experiences.
• Additional relevant certifications such as HV Safety, Electrical Authorization, or Certified Electrical Technician.
