Web Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily operations, performance, and reliability of ACLED's Drupal-based website and related web properties.

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues, including bug fixes, updates for plugins and modules, security patches, and CMS configurations.

• Execute minor frontend customizations and fixes within Drupal's theming and module layers.

• Monitor site performance, uptime, and Core Web Vitals, proactively addressing any issues that arise.

• Manage version control, staging environments, and deployment processes effectively.

• Ensure adherence to accessibility standards, security protocols, and best practices for front-end performance.

• Develop and maintain the overarching SEO strategy for ACLED.

• Conduct health audits of the site and perform competitive analyses.

• Oversee ongoing SEO monitoring, technical SEO, and keyword tracking efforts.

• Generate regular web performance reports and respond to ad hoc analytics requests as needed.

• Manage analytics platforms and establish meaningful metrics.

• Act as the primary contact for web-related requests, triaging, prioritizing, and coordinating delivery.

• Evaluate feature requests, improvement proposals, and bug reports.

• Coordinate and contribute to various ad hoc web-related projects.

• Collaborate with Data Science, Development, Analysis, and External Affairs teams to translate organizational needs into web deliverables.

• Directly supervise the Digital Officer, providing guidance, feedback, and support for professional development.

• Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of web team members.

• Support colleagues in effectively utilizing the CMS and web tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, information systems, digital media, communications, or equivalent).

• At least 3 years of experience managing or coordinating a content-driven website, including hands-on technical work.

• Proficient working experience with Drupal CMS (site building, configuration, module management, theming, and troubleshooting).

• Strong working knowledge of PHP.

• Solid comprehension of HTML, CSS, and web standards.

• Experience with SEO strategies and tools (e.g., Google Search Console, Semrush, Screaming Frog, or similar).

• Familiarity with web analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Looker, or similar).

• Understanding of web performance optimization, accessibility standards (WCAG), and security best practices.

• Experience with version control (Git) and deployment workflows.

• Strong organizational capabilities to manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholders.

• Experience in supervising or mentoring at least one team member.

• Preferred: Experience with JavaScript and/or front-end frameworks (e.g., React) for web tool development.

• Preferred: Familiarity with third-party platform integrations, including authentication flows, API connections, embedded forms, and tracking.

• Preferred: Experience with ContentSquare/Hotjar for UX monitoring and testing.

• Preferred: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and hosting infrastructure (e.g., cloud platforms, CDNs).

• Preferred: Experience with CRM or marketing automation platforms.

• Preferred: Experience in mission-driven, research, or data-focused organizations.
