Web Application Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and sustain websites and web applications within NASA’s Earth Science Division

• Primarily utilize PHP, Drupal, and WordPress

• Create engagement-driven websites and knowledge management platforms

• Collaborate with developers, designers, content creators, project managers, and customer stakeholders

• Provide support to cross-functional delivery teams

• Produce experiences for both internal and external audiences that educate and raise awareness of NASA Earth Science Division knowledge and information

• Undertake self-directed application development projects and contribute to team initiatives

• Operate mainly on an Eastern time schedule as part of a remote virtual team

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, web design/development, or equivalent professional experience

• Over 5 years of experience in deploying commercial or government websites and secure web applications/content management systems

• Maintenance and development experience with Drupal 10/11, including custom module creation

• Proficiency in fundamental web technologies

• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git

• Capability to write maintainable and scalable code

• Ability to follow directions and thrive in a self-directed team environment

• Enthusiasm for supporting NASA’s communication and research objectives

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory
