This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with attorneys, certified financial planners (CFPs), certified public accountants (CPAs), and wealth management advisors to develop comprehensive plans, provide thought leadership, planning education, and targeted consultations.

• Analyze clients’ financial situations, goals, and planning priorities to uncover opportunities and formulate targeted strategies.

• Assess and implement planning solutions that embody Northwestern Mutual’s integrated approach to investments and life insurance.

• Conduct presentations for advisors and clients.

• Collaborate with clients’ external legal and tax advisors to ensure alignment and coordinated execution.

• Address advanced planning inquiries with discretion and professional judgment.

• Oversee workflow and provide high-quality analyses and consultations in accordance with service level expectations.

• Foster cross-functional relationships to navigate complex client situations and enhance the delivery of planning guidance.


⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.

• At least 10 years of experience in estate and business planning.

• Significant experience working directly with high-net-worth clients in advanced estate and business planning, as well as tax planning.

• Profound knowledge and expertise in tax optimization, estate and business succession, and wealth transfer strategies.

• FINRA Series 6 or 7 and a state insurance license to be obtained within the first six months of employment.

• Strong analytical skills, disciplined follow-through, effective prioritization, and a proven ability to collaborate successfully with other professionals.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

• Established capacity to build trust and credibility with financial advisors.

• Demonstrated executive presence and the ability to influence advisors, clients, and stakeholders.

• Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint, and experienced with planning software, workflow tools, research platforms, and AI-enabled tools.

• Additional advanced degrees or certifications such as CFP, CPA, or LL.M. are preferred.

• A passion for mentoring others is a plus.
