Associate Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.

📋 Description

• Attend court sessions and hearings as necessary.

• Execute the signing of pleadings and facilitate case settlements.

• Oversee all facets of litigation while managing an independent caseload.

• Advocate in debt collection cases.

• Assess correspondence and files for suitability.

• Review and evaluate answers.

• Prepare discovery materials and dispositive motions.

• Get ready for and conduct trials.

• Represent clients in both pre-suit and post-judgment situations.

• Analyze and provide guidance on legal and regulatory risks.

• Formulate strategies in compliance with state and federal rules, regulations, and standards.

• Stay updated on changes in state and local regulations.

• Perform additional attorney tasks as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must be admitted to the Nebraska Bar and possess a license to practice law in Nebraska.

• Experience in civil litigation and attendance at court proceedings is essential.

• Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.

• Ability to analyze case law and offer sound recommendations.

• Proficient in drafting legal pleadings, motions, discovery requests, stipulations, and other legal documents.

• Skilled in writing, reviewing, and editing reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and various documents.

• Familiarity with state and federal consumer laws and updates in state or local regulations.

• Capacity to independently manage a caseload effectively.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

• Competence in prioritizing and organizing large volumes of information.

• Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.

• Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.

• Willingness to travel for work-related purposes.

• Additional licensing in Iowa is preferred.

• Knowledge of Bankruptcy Law, Foreclosure Law, or FDCPA/FCRA/TCPA is advantageous.

• Experience in collection law and/or significant courtroom exposure is a plus.

• Must be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.

• Must be able to access and navigate through all departments at the organization's facilities.
