Associate Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Attend court hearings.

• Sign pleadings and negotiate settlements.

• Manage all facets of litigation and debt collection cases.

• Review correspondence, files, and responses.

• Prepare discovery documents and dispositive motions.

• Prepare for and conduct trials effectively.

• Represent clients in pre-litigation and post-judgment scenarios.

• Provide analysis and counsel on legal and regulatory risks.

• Stay informed about changes in state and local regulations.

• Independently oversee a caseload.

• Develop litigation strategies that adhere to state and federal laws, regulations, and compliance standards.

• Execute additional attorney duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be admitted to the Iowa Bar.

• Licensed to practice law in Nebraska.

• Background in civil litigation is essential.

• Experience in attending court proceedings.

• Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.

• Ability to analyze case law and provide sound recommendations.

• Proficient in drafting legal pleadings, motions, discovery documents, stipulations, reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and other legal documents.

• Familiarity with state and federal consumer protection laws.

• Capacity to manage an independent caseload effectively.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Strong ability to prioritize and organize large volumes of information.

• Capability to work in a deadline-oriented environment.

• Knowledge of Bankruptcy Law, Foreclosure Law, FDCPA, FCRA, or TCPA is advantageous.

• Experience in collection law and/or substantial courtroom experience is a plus.

• Ability to work remotely from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to accommodate business needs.

• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and navigate organizational facilities.
