
VP/Executive Director, Precision Medicine

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Establish the Precision Medicine Executive organization for Cogent’s inaugural product launch.
• Oversee and mentor a team of Precision Medicine Executives.
• Create the operational plan and budget for the Precision Medicine division.
• Recruit, train, and develop the first PME team prior to receiving FDA approval for Cogent medicines.
• Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders at Cogent to align and implement strategic initiatives.
• Partner with healthcare professional stakeholders at prominent U.S. healthcare systems to facilitate treatment access and availability post-FDA approval.
• Cultivate an environment that prioritizes the experience of patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
• Ensure PME team members are integrated into target healthcare systems by providing exceptional value.
• Assist corporate and field colleagues in preparing for product launches in a dynamic specialty market.
• Complete field coaching reports following each travel session.
• Organize and lead team meetings.
• Verify that budgets and timelines comply with corporate standards.
• Ensure PME activities adhere to regulatory and legal requirements.
• A BA/BS degree or an equivalent healthcare qualification is required.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and/or medical fields.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical marketplace.
• Profound understanding of industry trends and the broader healthcare landscape.
• At least 10 years of combined experience in leading specialty and/or rare disease managers and/or representatives.
• Proven ability to develop and implement a department-level operating plan and budget.
• Experience in building, leading, and motivating high-performance teams in both direct-line and matrix management contexts.
• Excellent negotiation, partnership, and influencing capabilities.
• Ability to manage business relationships with external strategic partners.
• Previous experience working with large accounts and/or hospitals.
• Successful experience in product launches is essential.
• Experience in various commercial disciplines, including sales, marketing, market access, and operations, is preferred.
• Prior experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech startup is preferred.
• Technologically adept and committed to utilizing data and advanced analytics.
• Willingness to travel frequently overnight, including occasional weekend travel.
