VP, Relationship Director – Investment Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Act as the representative of Avantis Investors in the external marketplace of Ohio.

• Comprehend and advocate for Avantis Investors’ investment philosophy and process, along with American Century’s mission-driven purpose, private ownership structure, and investment capabilities.

• Increase assets under management, particularly with fee-based RIAs.

• Work alongside internal partners to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities.

• Contribute to the development and enhancement of a strategic distribution plan.

• Foster relationships and establish a dynamic pipeline with fee-based advisors nationwide.

• Shape the development of a consultative, solutions-oriented sales methodology.

• Create a consistent and systematic method for identifying, prospecting, and engaging potential partners.

• Collaborate with product development, marketing, and investment teams to ensure competitive positioning across essential client and product opportunities.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience selling to sophisticated, fee-based RIAs, with direct experience and established relationships with RIAs.

• Proficiency in engaging in sophisticated discussions with clients regarding portfolio construction, asset allocation, and risk management.

• Comprehensive understanding of general portfolio behavior and capital markets.

• Capability to represent Avantis Investors’ unique investment philosophy and process in a highly consultative and persuasive manner.

• Exhibits intellectual curiosity, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment characterized by ambiguity and hands-on tasks.

• Cultivates a collaborative, team-oriented sales culture with a proactive approach, taking initiative, making principled decisions, and driving results through teamwork and accountability.

• Bachelor’s degree required.

• FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses, or equivalent as mandated by state, or the ability to obtain licenses within a short timeframe.

• Willingness to travel to client and industry events is mandatory.

• Familiarity with ETF platforms, key decision-makers, products, and philosophies is highly desirable.

• Graduate degree (MBA) and/or a related professional designation (CFA, CAIA) is preferred.
