VP of Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the CFO on cash forecasting, liquidity management, treasury functions, and working-capital oversight.

• Create forward-looking insights into cash necessities involving inventory, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and vendor payments.

• Enhance the cash conversion cycle, optimize inventory investments, improve collections, adjust payment timings, and negotiate vendor terms.

• Convert operational plans and business decisions into their effects on cash flow and working capital.

• Propel enhancements in Finance systems and processes, utilizing NetSuite as the primary ERP system.

• Increase transaction accuracy, fortify controls, eliminate repetitive manual tasks, and harness automation, technology, and AI.

• Establish scalable financial procedures to support business growth.

• Offer senior leadership regarding inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and product costing, while developing the Inventory/Cost Accounting function.

• Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain to enhance inventory accuracy, costing, fulfillment, and the integration of operational and financial processes.

• Provide expertise in areas such as third-party logistics (3PLs), co-manufacturing, electronic data interchange (EDI), fulfillment, trade spending, deductions, chargebacks, landed costs, and cost variances.

• Identify underlying causes of inventory and costing challenges and implement sustainable enhancements.

• Supervise financial reporting and month-end closing processes while cultivating leadership within the Accounting team.

• Manage audit processes, tax compliance, accounting policies, and internal control measures.

• Enhance the precision, speed, and predictability of financial reporting and accountability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting.

• Proven leadership skills in hiring and team development.

• In-depth understanding of working capital, cash forecasting, liquidity, and treasury management.

• Extensive experience with NetSuite and a record of success in refining financial systems and processes.

• Comprehensive background in inventory and cost accounting within inventory-focused businesses.

• Familiarity with retail fulfillment, EDI, trade spending, deductions, accruals, 3PLs, and related operational accounting.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in partnership with Operations and Supply Chain.

• Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in overseeing closing processes, audits, tax compliance, and internal controls.

• CPA designation and/or experience in Big 4 public accounting is highly preferred.

• Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), food and beverage, consumer products, manufacturing, retail, or similar inventory-intensive sectors is strongly preferred.
