Grants Financial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Provide administrative support for Carle Health System's externally funded initiatives following post-award guidelines.

• Partner with various departments to set up and oversee grants within Workday's Grants module.

• Collaborate with Research and Accounting teams to create and implement OMB-compliant accounting and procurement processes.

• Develop and maintain reports for tracking and analyzing financial data related to grant accounts.

• Ensure that all financial activities and transactions adhere to internal and external policies, project budgets, and agreements.

• Confirm that expenditures are permissible and suitable, reconcile grant worktag expenditures, and initiate transfers when required.

• Oversee budgets, account balances, expenditures, personnel efforts, and compensation associated with sponsored projects.

• Generate financial reports and analyses for program directors.

• Notify program directors when budget adjustments are necessary and provide guidance on hiring and significant spending choices.

• Prepare invoices and manage receivables for subaward contracts.

• Assist with both internal and external reporting obligations and timelines.

• Conduct sponsored project close-out reviews and coordinate prompt account closure with the Accounting department.

• Represent Carle Health during internal and external audits.

• Monitor and track expenses for projects funded internally.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.

• Relevant work experience in a similar field.

• Familiarity with OMB 2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance.

• Capability to implement grant and institution-specific requirements.

• Demonstrated professional judgment, independence, discretion, and sound decision-making skills.

• Proficiency in understanding and applying relevant policies, procedures, and accepted regulatory standards.

• Ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented environment.

• Experience using Workday Grants module, or the capability to establish and manage grants financially within Workday.

• Understanding of accounting and procurement guidelines and procedures.

• Aptitude for monitoring grant budgets, account balances, expenditures, personnel efforts, and compensation.

• Skill in preparing financial reports, invoices, receivables, and analyses.

• Ability to assist in sponsored project close-out and audit processes.
