VP of Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Oversee engineering execution, architecture, and operational delivery in collaboration with the CPTO.

• Manage daily software development, engineering operations, and enhance delivery velocity among engineering teams.

• Convert strategic product roadmaps into predictable, high-quality engineering sprints and releases in partnership with Product Management and Program Management.

• Uphold engineering standards related to agile development, release management, code quality, and cloud-native scalability.

• Direct the evolution of the platform, including AI integration and client scalability, in conjunction with the CPTO and senior leadership.

• Keep track of technology and regulatory trends in AI, data governance, and financial systems.

• Implement and expand coding agents, testing agents, and AI-assisted development tools.

• Create metrics and observability dashboards to monitor platform performance, CI/CD throughput, deployment frequency, and engineering velocity.

• Enhance the SaaS architecture to accommodate a growing client base and intricate use cases.

• Ensure data governance, model transparency, and explainability for AI-driven products.

• Develop and sustain a secure, scalable, high-performance platform.

• Collaborate with InfoSec on managing technical risks, ensuring SOC 2 and GDPR compliance, and maintaining infrastructure reliability.

• Build, mentor, and expand Engineering and DevOps teams.

• Attract, recruit, and retain top technical talent.

• Foster technical excellence, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Work with Implementation, Customer Success, and Go-to-Market teams to establish reliability, uptime, and client delivery standards.

• Engage with enterprise clients and technical stakeholders regarding integration, architecture, and data management requirements.

• Partner with the Head of AI to drive research, innovation, advanced AI capabilities, LLMOps, and agentic functionality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressive technical leadership experience, with at least 5 years as a VP of Engineering, Director of Engineering, or similar role in a financial technology or enterprise software firm.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is mandatory.

• Proven track record in scaling an enterprise-grade technology stack, encompassing cloud infrastructure, operations, DevOps, and CI/CD best practices.

• Profound knowledge of data-intensive systems, machine learning operations (MLOps), and AI-driven agentic applications.

• Practical experience with Python, NodeJS, cloud-native containerized microservices (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes, and contemporary data pipelines.

• Experience in designing and managing secure, compliant, and high-availability systems for institutional clients.

• Demonstrated success in leading distributed teams and promoting engineering excellence in a high-growth, innovation-oriented setting.

• Proven ability to develop and manage an AI-enabled engineering organization utilizing AI-assisted development tools and workflows.

• Strategic thinker with the capability to translate technology decisions into long-term business value.

• Competence in balancing technical depth with executive-level communication and decision-making.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across product, client, and commercial functions.

• Enthusiasm for leveraging AI and data science to revolutionize traditional processes in capital markets.
