This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the Case Strategy Engineering team.
• Take ownership of engineering outcomes that enhance incremental reimbursement for customers, linking the technical roadmap to customer value and Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR).
• Manage data models, databases, APIs, services, and full-stack workflows by applying case strategies throughout the IDR process.
• Collaborate with Science and AI Platform teams to transition AI and ML capabilities from experimental phases to dependable product experiences.
• Develop systems that capture outcomes, identify signals, and integrate real-world results into model development and strategy enhancement.
• Establish priorities, mentor engineers, foster accountability, and encourage rigorous technical discussions.
• Recruit engineers and define organizational roles, ownership boundaries, and operational practices.
• Convert vague product and technical challenges into actionable plans, sequence tasks, manage dependencies, and ensure consistent delivery.
• Oversee architecture across Python services, GCP infrastructure, data systems, LLM-enabled functionalities, and customer-facing applications.
• Leverage AI-enabled development tools to brainstorm ideas, prototype solutions, and contribute directly as needed.
• Report directly to the Director of Product Engineering.
• Over 7 years of experience as an individual contributor in building and leading engineering teams within early-stage environments.
• At least 2 years of experience in a managerial engineering role.
• Strong foundation as an individual contributor with the technical expertise to guide architecture and assess trade-offs.
• Experience in delivering production-level AI or ML products, or overseeing engineering efforts in collaboration with data science or applied science teams.
• Knowledge of reliable systems surrounding models, including data pipelines, feedback loops, APIs, monitoring, and product workflows.
• Capability to lead through ambiguity and imperfect data.
• Experience managing teams of seasoned, opinionated engineers.
• Ability to link engineering initiatives to business and customer outcomes, including ARR.
• Proficiency in communicating technical decisions and fostering alignment across Engineering, Science, Product, and other stakeholders.
• Experience in healthcare, provider reimbursement, revenue cycle management, claims, or Independent Dispute Resolution (extra credit).
• Familiarity with optimization, experimentation, decision systems, strategy models, or feedback-driven ML products (extra credit).
• Experience in scaling an early engineering team or developing production AI systems using Python, GCP, and LLMs (extra credit).
