📋 Description

• Identify the key problems that can be effectively addressed with Product, Design, Data, and Operations.

• Establish success metrics that deliver measurable value for pizzerias, customers, and the business.

• Steer architectural and engineering decisions pertaining to owned services.

• Maintain a balance between speed, reliability, simplicity, and the long-term health of the system.

• Lead and nurture a high-agency engineering team.

• Provide engineers with context, decision boundaries, and significant ownership of their work.

• Remove obstacles and facilitate collaboration across organizational lines.

• Elevate execution standards and create streamlined mechanisms for focus and learning.

• Utilize customer feedback, product data, incidents, and operational metrics to inform decision-making.

• Hire, retain, mentor, and develop engineering talent.

• Address underperformance in a clear and timely manner.

• Cultivate relationships with engineering, product, and business leaders.

• Influence outcomes through sound judgment and results rather than relying on hierarchical structures.

• Report to an Engineering Director while collaborating with managers and technical leaders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building and managing customer-facing software or platforms.

• Demonstrated ability to manage high-performing engineering teams.

• Strong technical acumen in backend services, APIs, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and production operations.

• Proficiency in Python, Go, Ruby, or similar backend technologies.

• A history of enhancing customer outcomes and engineering productivity.

• Capability to transform complex, ambiguous challenges into clear directives.

• Founder-minded approach: resourceful, decisive, intellectually curious, and proactive in seeking solutions.

• Strong instincts for leverage, discerning when to act swiftly and when deeper investment is warranted.

• Willingness to challenge subpar thinking, including one's own.

• Ability to communicate clearly and directly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
