This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of new client business development for CDP’s Drug Delivery division within a designated target account list.
• Generate a qualified pipeline through account-based prospecting, referrals, partner channels, and follow-ups driven by events.
• Build and sustain pipeline coverage throughout the sales process.
• Identify and engage senior stakeholders at pharmaceutical companies interested in outsourced drug delivery device development services.
• Lead consultative discovery discussions addressing fit, urgency, needs, technical scope, timeline, budget, decision criteria, and buying process.
• Transform ambiguous opportunities into actionable pursuit plans with stakeholder mapping, competitive positioning, qualification checkpoints, and mutual action plans.
• Collaborate with market leadership to create technically sound, commercially viable, and executable scopes.
• Keep precise CRM records, manage opportunity staging, next steps, close plans, probability, and weekly forecasts.
• Represent CDP at conferences, industry events, and networking forums.
• Ensure smooth transitions to delivery leadership while maintaining scope intent and customer expectations.
• Assist with annual budgeting and strategic planning processes.
• Identify sector opportunity spaces, target clients, market trends, barriers, and risks.
• Recognize market themes and collaborate with marketing on conferences, sales materials, case studies, website updates, collateral, and thought leadership initiatives.
• Update and manage sales materials while presenting CDP capabilities in an engaging manner.
• Attend and present at conferences.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, life sciences, or a related technical field, or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience.
• Over 10 years of progressive business development experience.
• Proven success in selling engineering consulting and outsourced product development services.
• Demonstrated experience in new client acquisition, including outbound pipeline generation and closing complex, solution-based sales.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to explain intricate development concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience managing lengthy, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving executive, engineering, quality, regulatory, clinical, and procurement contacts.
• Familiarity with medical device development and regulatory environments.
• Working knowledge of FDA, ISO 13485, and IEC 60601 requirements and standards.
• Excellent planning, organization, communication, CRM, and forecast-reporting skills.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned territory for customer meetings and industry events.
• Experience in developing scopes of work and proposals alongside engineering, program management, quality, and regulatory teams.
