Volunteer Social Media Editor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee the organization’s social media platforms on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn in close partnership with the national office.

• Continuously monitor selected social media accounts within the humanist, civil society, and social and political affairs sectors.

• Identify appropriate content for reposting and additional editorial development.

• Conduct research on pertinent topics, ongoing discussions, and awareness days.

• Generate ideas for original social media content and formats.

• Prepare and create posts, Stories, and Reels.

• Tailor content for specific audiences on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

• Design and modify graphics and simple videos, for instance, using Canva.

• Assist in editorial planning.

• Share your insights and experiences to enhance the organization’s social media communications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hands-on experience with social media and a solid understanding of content and formats that resonate on various platforms.

• Background in creating or managing social media content—whether professionally, as a volunteer, for personal channels, an association, an initiative, or another project.

• A keen awareness of relevant topics, engaging content, and trending social media formats.

• Interest in social and political matters, along with a commitment to humanist values and human rights.

• Strong language proficiency and excellent written and spoken German skills.

• Confident in using standard digital tools.

• A structured, independent, and reliable work ethic.

• Familiarity with Canva or similar applications is advantageous.

• Experience with Reels and short-form videos, community management, social media strategy, or analyzing social media metrics is especially welcomed.

• No specific degree or formal training in communications or social media is necessary.
