This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with Product and Strategy teams to create the business case, encompassing labor-market demand, wage outcomes, the competitive landscape, possible physical lab investments, site considerations, enrollment potential, and unit economics.
• Differentiate between validated market facts, working assumptions, and recommendations to aid leadership in their go/no-go decision-making process.
• Provide guidance on pricing, cohort sizes, delivery models (including hybrid lab and online theory), as well as capital and staffing considerations.
• Formulate recommendations for competency frameworks, course sequences, clock- or credit-hour structures, along with lab and equipment requirements.
• Evaluate compliance with NEC/NFPA 70, NCCER Core and Electrical curricula, OSHA 10/30, state licensure, and U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship standards.
• Suggest articulation pathways into apprenticeships and journey-level opportunities, including connections with IBEW/NECA and other union or independent-contractor pathways.
• Provide counsel on the establishment of an employer or industry advisory board.
• Propose policies, processes, and outcome measures for employment, apprenticeship, and state-examination entry requirements.
• Advise Academics on faculty qualifications, instructor-to-student lab-safety ratios, equipment sourcing, and facilities or lab-partner models.
• Identify considerations for accreditation, state authorization, and program approval.
• Create recommendations and a roadmap for implementing a potential program launch, subject to institutional review and approval.
• May extend into detailed program design and launch planning following a feasibility assessment and approval.
• Proven subject-matter expertise in the electrical trade.
• Direct experience in designing, launching, and scaling vocational, CTE, or workforce programs at higher education institutions, community or technical colleges, trade schools, or workforce-development organizations.
• Solid understanding of NEC, NCCER, OSHA, U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship standards, and state electrical licensure frameworks.
• Business and operational fluency, with the capability to advise on program P&L, staffing models, equipment capital requirements, and enrollment economics, in addition to instructional design.
• History of developing employer partnerships and pathways for apprenticeship or job placement.
• Licensed electrician, master electrician, or equivalent relevant industry credential (preferred).
• Previous experience as a program director, dean, or department leader in a trades or workforce environment (preferred).
• Familiarity with competency-based or clock-hour program models and the processes for accreditor or state approval (preferred).
• Experience with hybrid lab-plus-online delivery models for hands-on trades (preferred).
• Consulting engagement based on projects structured around defined deliverables and phases.
• Estimated 20–40 hours per week during the business-case and design phases, with workload fluctuating based on project milestones, deliverables, and engagement needs.
