This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the Voucher intake process, detailing benefits to injured workers and outlining support from Case Specialists.
• Work collaboratively with Case Specialists on routine case file evaluations and critical deadlines.
• Address escalated issues and provide prompt resolutions.
• Stay informed about industry topics, regulatory updates, and changes in workers’ compensation.
• Partner with the Voucher team to ensure smooth case flow and operational excellence.
• Maintain expert knowledge in SJDB services and encourage cross-functional education.
• Execute duties as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for injured workers and client attorneys.
• Create and present regular training sessions for the voucher team.
• Investigate industry events, publications, and announcements to identify innovative ideas.
• Attend educational workshops and industry events, review professional publications, build industry connections, and engage in professional organizations.
• Uphold Gemini Legal’s core values, standards of conduct, integrity, and culture.
• Utilize independent judgment and discretion under general supervision.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• At least 3 years of full-time experience in conducting vocational evaluations, counseling, and placement of disabled individuals.
• Vocational and Return-to-Work Counselor (VRTWC) Certification and Accreditation are mandatory.
• Previous experience in a legal environment is preferred but not essential.
• In-depth knowledge of workers’ compensation regulations, codes, and guidelines relevant to vocational rehabilitation and the industry.
• Strong industry knowledge and relationships with all relevant parties in the workers' compensation field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish is required.
• Comprehensive understanding of the SJDB industry and its operational processes.
• Capability to perform root cause analysis of issues.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, organizational, and workload planning abilities.
• Effective self-management and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• High levels of self-motivation and a strong work ethic.
• Outstanding presentation skills.
• Proficiency in office software, business phone systems, video conferencing, and computer applications, including Google Workplace.
• Ability to utilize data and analytics to forecast, drive outcomes, make decisions, and enhance products to improve sales performance.
• Proven history of successfully achieving goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Experience in an office environment is required.
• Strong teamwork capabilities.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment screening.
• Knowledge of HIPAA Compliance is mandatory.
• Must be capable of performing essential functions with or without accommodation.
• May be required to travel up to 10% of working hours.
