This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Address clinical, technical, and scientific inquiries from both internal and external clients regarding the genetic testing offerings.
• Provide clinical guidance to laboratory personnel and molecular geneticists concerning accessioning queries, modifications to test orders, and interpretation of results.
• Collaborate with molecular geneticists and various departments to deliver high-quality, timely test results and fulfill organizational objectives.
• Assist in the creation of marketing materials and content for the company website.
• Represent the company at scientific meetings and industry conferences while networking with other genetic counselors.
• Develop educational resources and support public speaking initiatives for client and public education.
• Facilitate the intake and execution of Special Projects.
• Execute specialized tasks that extend beyond the typical responsibilities of a genetic counselor.
• Support training for genetic counseling assistants.
• Uphold the company's mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
• Adhere to and support the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
• Act with an inclusive mindset and exemplify these behaviors for the organization.
• Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling.
• ABGC/CCGC Board Certified or eligible.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Pediatric, Prenatal, MFM/NICU, or Adult (Cardio/Neuro) Genetics clinical role.
• Experience with whole genome and whole exome testing.
• Comprehensive knowledge of human genetics.
• General understanding of personalized healthcare and the rapidly evolving practices in clinical genetics, laboratory medicine, and informatics.
• Ability to customize, translate, and convey complex information in a straightforward and relevant manner to a diverse audience.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Capability to analyze and resolve complex problems.
• Excellent verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Demonstrated capacity to fulfill the essential duties of the role with or without accommodation.
• Commitment to maintaining professional certification through continuous education.
• Ensure regular and dependable attendance.
• Ability to adhere to a designated schedule.
• Work within standard office and genetic testing laboratory environments.
• Some local and overnight travel is necessary for client meetings and conference attendance.
• Visual acuity is required for viewing computer screens and patient records.
• Physical ability to stand or sit for up to 50 minutes each hour is essential for performing laboratory and computer tasks.
• Hearing acuity is necessary to receive laboratory safety warnings and to hear telephones, doorbells, and security alarms.
• The ability to navigate throughout the building is required to access computers, printers, laboratories, and personnel.
