This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage clinical, technical, and scientific inquiries from both internal and external clients regarding the genetic testing offerings.
• Adhere to departmental protocols while identifying and reporting any issues to the Clinical Inquiry Specialist Manager.
• Offer clinical expertise to laboratory personnel and molecular geneticists concerning accessioning inquiries, modifications to test orders, and interpretation of results.
• Collaborate with molecular geneticists and various departments to ensure the delivery of high-quality, timely test results, contributing to the achievement of organizational objectives.
• Assist in the creation of marketing materials and content for the company website.
• Represent the company at scientific meetings and industry conferences.
• Build a network with other genetic counselors.
• Create educational materials and support client and public education through public speaking engagements.
• Maintain professional certification through continuous education.
• Facilitate the intake and execution of Special Projects.
• Carry out specialized tasks beyond the typical duties of a genetic counselor.
• Aid in the training of genetic counseling assistants.
• Uphold the company’s mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
• Foster inclusive behaviors.
• Execute laboratory and computer tasks in both standard office and genetic testing laboratory environments.
• Travel locally and overnight to engage with clients and attend conferences.
• Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling.
• ABGC/CCGC Board Certified or eligible.
• Proven ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without accommodation.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Over 2 years of experience in a Pediatric, Prenatal, MFM/NICU, or Adult (Cardio/Neuro) Genetics clinical position.
• Familiarity with whole genome and whole exome testing.
• Extensive knowledge of human genetics.
• General understanding of personalized health care and the evolving practices of clinical genetics, laboratory medicine, and informatics.
• Capability to tailor, translate, and convey complex information in an accessible and relevant manner to diverse audiences.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
• Proficient in dissecting and analyzing complex problems.
• Exceptional verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Support and adhere to the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
• Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
• Visual acuity is necessary for viewing the computer screen and patient records.
• Physical capability to stand or sit for up to 50 minutes each hour is essential for performing laboratory and computer tasks.
• Hearing acuity is required to receive alerts about laboratory hazards and to hear telephones, doorbells, and security alarms.
• Ability to navigate throughout the building to access computers, printers, laboratories, and personnel.
