Visual Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Work alongside the Analysis of Waiver Risk Evidence (AWARE) team to develop and execute visual analyses of health surveillance, personnel, deployment, and operational datasets.

• Create interactive dashboards, reports, and visual analytics that enhance Air Force medical readiness, force health protection, and operational decision-making.

• Generate impactful data visualizations utilizing tools such as Tableau, SAS Viya, and SAS Enterprise Guide to effectively convey complex information.

• Examine healthcare, personnel, and operational data to uncover trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities for enhancing health outcomes.

• Assist in the collection, integration, and preparation of data for visual analytics and reporting purposes.

• Design and sustain dashboards for the Aeromedical Waiver Division (AMWD), encompassing key performance indicators (KPIs), health risk trends, healthcare utilization, return on investment, and program performance metrics.

• Draft technical reports, presentations, and briefing materials to relay study findings and analytical results.

• Deliver presentations of findings to government leadership, technical teams, and scientific audiences.

• Collaborate with epidemiologists, data scientists, clinicians, and military stakeholders to craft innovative visualization solutions.

• Offer consultation and technical support for AWARE data products and visual analytics initiatives.

• Regularly interface with USAFSAM/FESO leadership and program staff to fulfill mission requirements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree in Epidemiology, Statistics, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or a closely related quantitative discipline.

• At least 1 year of professional experience in visual analytics, data analytics, or a related field.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and leading visual analyses of healthcare, surveillance, or military datasets.

• Advanced understanding of data visualization, population health analytics, health surveillance, and dashboard development.

• Proficient in Tableau, SAS, SAS Enterprise Guide (SAS EG), and the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience in creating interactive dashboards, charts, graphs, maps, and executive-level reports.

• Capability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable visual insights.

• Current or ability to obtain HIPAA training for managing protected health information.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in preparing reports and presentations.
