This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Perform research on the agrochemicals and textiles sectors within the petrochemical industry.
• Investigate banks and financial mechanisms relevant to the petrochemical industry.
• Conduct horizon scanning for developments in the petrochemical industry by reviewing articles, annual reports, investor presentations, and industry publications.
• Prepare forecasts and analyses of trends in the Indian agrochemical and textile sectors within the petrochemical industry.
• Gather economic data from established datasets and other sources, applying data collection and data science protocols.
• Use statistical analysis and mathematical methodologies to develop data insights.
• Engage with relevant external stakeholders, including regulators, banking institutions, investors, and multilateral development banks (MDBs) both in India and internationally.
• Represent IEEFA at various meetings.
• Collaborate with team members while also working independently to research and write original reports and commentaries on India's petrochemical industry.
• Draft, format, and proofread reports, submissions, press releases, and presentations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Work five days a week, with the possibility of evening or weekend work as necessary.
• Attend IEEFA’s annual conference and international team retreat.
• Travel as needed.
• 2-4 years of experience in economics or finance, including at least two years related to the petrochemical industry (agrochemicals) in India.
• A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or public policy.
• Extensive experience analyzing the impact of industry growth on the economy, financial reporting, stocks, and investment portfolios.
• Proficient understanding of finance, public policy, and quantitative analysis.
• Familiarity with the policy and regulatory landscape in the petrochemical industry, focusing on India.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, evidenced through publications, reports, commentaries, and interactions with regulators and government stakeholders.
• High level of technological proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with a proven ability to learn new software and applications.
• A strong commitment to IEEFA’s mission to expedite the transition to a diverse, sustainable, and profitable economy.
• Knowledge and experience in the ammonia and agrochemical sectors.
• Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to work for extended periods at a computer.
