Cyber Forensics Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Carry out defensible data preservation and collection tasks across endpoints, servers, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems.

• Assist in comprehensive eDiscovery workflows, encompassing identification, preservation, collection, processing, and handoff for review.

• Execute targeted and bulk collections utilizing forensic and eDiscovery tools.

• Oversee legal hold implementations and strategies for data preservation.

• Perform data triage and validation to guarantee the completeness and defensibility of collections.

• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, HR, and Security teams on investigations and litigation issues.

• Utilize Microsoft Purview eDiscovery for case management, search, collection, and export.

• Process and analyze data using Nuix Workstation or equivalent platforms.

• Employ EnCase for forensic acquisition and analysis when necessary.

• Uphold chain of custody and documentation for evidence handling.

• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for eDiscovery and forensic workflows.

• Offer technical expertise during audits, regulatory inquiries, and internal investigations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Over 3 years of experience in digital forensics, eDiscovery, or a closely related discipline.

• Practical experience with at least one of the following: EnCase, Nuix, or Microsoft Purview eDiscovery.

• Proven experience in executing data preservation and defensible collection activities.

• Familiarity with the eDiscovery lifecycle and legal/regulatory requirements.

• Knowledge of file systems, operating systems, and data structures.

• Excellent documentation and reporting abilities.

• Capacity to manage multiple cases and priorities concurrently.

• Experience with various tools across EnCase, Nuix, and Microsoft Purview eDiscovery (preferred).

• Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, OneDrive, and Teams (preferred).

• Background in forensic imaging and endpoint data acquisition (preferred).

• Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting/automation (preferred).

• Industry certifications such as EnCE, GCFA, CCE, or Relativity certifications (preferred).

• Experience supporting litigation, regulatory, or internal investigation matters (preferred).
