Virtualization Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage VMware-based virtualization platforms.

• Oversee software-defined networking and storage solutions.

• Operate systems in both on-premises and hybrid cloud settings.

• Collaborate with technologies such as vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu.

• Automate operational tasks and oversee capacity management.

• Manage VMware platforms on an enterprise scale.

• Diagnose issues across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Enforce operational discipline within a large VMware environment while working with modern cloud-native applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

• At least five years of practical experience in VMware platform engineering.

• In-depth knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.

• Experience with vSAN and storage policy management.

• Familiarity with NSX-T or NSX-V networking solutions.

• Proficient in PowerCLI scripting and automation tools.

• Knowledge of Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container solutions.

• Strong grasp of disaster recovery strategies and SRM.

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Outstanding communication and teamwork skills.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP certifications are preferred.

• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE is a plus.

• Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is advantageous.

• Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations is preferred.

• Background in migration projects from VMware to other virtualization platforms is a plus.
