This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct solar resource evaluations utilizing both satellite and ground-based data.
• Analyze performance, operational production, and climatological data from solar initiatives.
• Guide and mentor performance engineers in modeling, reviewing designs, and enhancing solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects.
• Execute long-term solar PV energy production assessments using PVsyst and Excel-based post-processing tools.
• Assist in solar evaluations across residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale sectors.
• Forecast energy production metrics.
• Conduct uncertainty analyses to ascertain P90, P95, and P99 probabilities of exceedance.
• Perform statistical uncertainty analyses and clipping-adjusted degradation assessments.
• Engage in improving the energy yield assessment process and validating procedures.
• Draft technical due diligence reports and convey findings to clients, developers, and financiers.
• Integrate PV modeling assumptions and inputs into simulations.
• Respond to client technical inquiries about solar resources and energy yield.
• Facilitate independent engineering and technical due diligence for project financing and asset acquisition.
• Assess solar equipment choices and technologies.
• Evaluate EPC contractor project execution strategies.
• Review Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), EPC, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contracts.
• Analyze CAPEX, OPEX, and performance metrics within financial models.
• Prepare and review engineering output including reports, studies, and calculations.
• Apply NEC, IEEE, UL, and IEC standards relevant to solar design and performance.
• Collaborate with team members to outline project execution strategies.
• Monitor project timelines and financial allocations.
• Manage multiple projects while upholding quality standards.
• Interface with clients to comprehend requests and confirm effective project execution.
• Evaluate inverter/load ratio strategies, bifacial gain, and estimates of soiling/loss.
• Prepare proposals for business development prospects.
• Travel periodically to project sites and client offices.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a scientific discipline such as chemistry, physics, materials science, or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of solar resource assessment and energy yield prediction methodologies.
• Over 10 years of experience in the energy sector.
• Experience in designing utility-scale solar projects.
• Previous role as a renewable energy consultant.
• Experience providing renewable due diligence services.
• Proficient in conducting uncertainty and statistical data analyses.
• Skilled in utilizing data analysis tools.
• Familiar with renewable energy project execution and financing.
• Experience in statistical modeling and data analytics.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Competent in writing technical reports and proposals.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to work collaboratively and lead others.
• Project planning and leadership capabilities.
• Must not require U.S. work authorization sponsorship.
• Experience with AI, automation, programming, or similar technologies is preferred but not mandatory.
