Virtual Medical Biller – Billing Support Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Confirm patient insurance coverage and establish prior authorization necessities.

• Gather clinical documentation, submit authorization requests, and track until final approval.

• Oversee authorization numbers and validity periods in eClinicalWorks prior to patient visits.

• Analyze A/R aging reports and communicate with commercial and government payers regarding unpaid, underpaid, denied, or delayed claims.

• Record insurance ERAs/EOBs and patient payments, including line-item payments, contractual adjustments, and deductibles.

• Review and submit primary and secondary claims.

• Examine clearinghouse and payer rejections, making necessary coding or demographic adjustments for clean-claim resubmissions.

• Prepare denial appeals and corrected claims.

• Address outstanding balances and uphold accurate billing records in eClinicalWorks.

• Ensure HIPAA compliance and safeguard patient financial information.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of direct U.S. medical billing experience covering verification, prior authorizations, A/R, posting, and claims processing.

• Proficient in CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes, modifier applications, and medical terminology.

• Strong skills in reviewing EOBs/ERAs, managing denials, and navigating commercial payer portals.

• Outstanding attention to detail, proactive follow-up, and the capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Excellent written and spoken English skills, along with a thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations.

• A private, HIPAA-compliant office environment equipped with a high-performance computer, primary high-speed internet, backup power/internet, and a headset.

• Recent hands-on experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) billing, eligibility, authorizations, posting, and A/R modules is highly preferred.

• Direct experience in orthopedic medical billing and surgical/diagnostic authorization is strongly preferred.
