This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +24 more states.
β’ Process patient payments via phone in accordance with financial responsibility guidelines.
β’ Develop, revise, and manage payment plans.
β’ Ensure the accuracy of transactions, documentation, and data integrity.
β’ Interpret and clarify claim notes, outstanding balances, and billing results.
β’ Verify, audit, and update insurance details.
β’ Input or modify insurance information in the EMR and resubmit pending or corrected claims.
β’ Educate patients regarding coordination of benefits, deductibles, coinsurance, copays, timely filing, and claim denials.
β’ Identify discrepancies and collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing issues.
β’ Investigate account history to ascertain the reasons for billing or payment issues.
β’ Suggest policy-compliant resolutions and subsequent actions.
β’ Navigate various billing systems, EMR platforms, tools, and knowledge resources.
β’ Comply with documentation, privacy, security, and HIPAA regulations.
β’ Maintain adherence to the schedule and be available during assigned hours.
β’ Complete client-required training and engage in uptraining and cross-training.
β’ Deliver professional, accountable, empathetic, and patient-focused service.
β’ Customer service or call center experience is essential.
β’ Experience in healthcare billing, insurance, or claims is highly preferred.
β’ Preference for candidates with payment processing or financial transaction experience.
β’ High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
β’ Technical competency with EMR systems and standard computer applications is required.
β’ Ability to work autonomously in a remote or virtual setting.
β’ Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English is necessary.
β’ A background check is required in compliance with applicable regulations.
β’ Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
β’ Analytical problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail are important.
β’ A solid understanding of healthcare billing and insurance principles is required.
β’ Ability to convey complex billing information in a patient-friendly manner.
β’ Comfort in using multiple systems and tools simultaneously.
β’ Organized, self-motivated, and collaborative work approach is necessary.
β’ Availability to work Monday through Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. MST is required.
β’ Shift differential of $1/hr for night and weekend shifts.
β’ Paid training, typically lasting 2 weeks.
β’ Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
β’ Benefits become available on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
