This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +24 more states.
• Process payments from patients via phone while adhering to financial responsibility policies.
• Create, modify, and manage payment plans effectively.
• Ensure the accuracy of transactions, maintain documentation, and uphold data integrity.
• Interpret and clarify claim notes, outstanding balances, and billing results for patients.
• Verify, audit, and update patients' insurance information as needed.
• Input or modify insurance details within the EMR and resubmit any pending or corrected claims.
• Educate patients regarding coordination of benefits, deductibles, coinsurance, copays, timely filing, and claim denials.
• Identify discrepancies and collaborate with internal teams to address billing concerns.
• Investigate account history to ascertain the causes of billing or payment issues.
• Suggest resolutions and next steps that align with company policies.
• Utilize billing systems, EMR platforms, tools, and available knowledge resources.
• Manage multiple systems concurrently while providing assistance to patients.
• Comply with documentation, privacy, security, and HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain adherence to schedules and availability during assigned work hours.
• Complete client-required training and engage in ongoing and cross-training opportunities.
• Deliver professional, accountable, empathetic, and patient-focused service.
• Required customer service or call center experience.
• Strongly preferred background in healthcare billing, insurance, or claims.
• Preferred experience in payment processing or financial transactions.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Technical skills in EMR systems and standard computer applications are necessary.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote or virtual setting.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English is essential.
• Background check is required in accordance with relevant laws.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail are crucial.
• Solid comprehension of healthcare billing and insurance principles is necessary.
• Ability to explain complex billing information in a manner that is understandable to patients.
• Comfortable working across various systems and tools simultaneously.
• Organized, self-driven, and collaborative work approach is essential.
• Starting pay of $15/hr with an additional shift differential (extra $1/hr for nights and weekends).
• Paid training, typically lasting 2 weeks.
• Full-time position of 40 hours per week.
• Eligibility for benefits begins on the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment.
