This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +24 more states.
• Process patient payments accurately via phone in line with financial responsibility guidelines.
• Establish, update, and manage payment plans adhering to set protocols.
• Ensure accuracy in transactions, along with proper documentation and data integrity.
• Interpret and effectively communicate claim notes, balances, and billing results to patients.
• Verify, audit, and update insurance details to ensure completeness and correctness.
• Input or modify insurance information within the EMR and resubmit claims that are pending or require corrections.
• Educate patients on coordination of benefits, deductibles, coinsurance, copays, timely filing, and claim denials.
• Identify inconsistencies and collaborate with internal teams to address billing-related issues.
• Investigate account history to identify the root cause of billing or payment issues.
• Suggest suitable resolutions and next steps in accordance with policies.
• Maintain professionalism and empathy during challenging or sensitive financial discussions.
• Utilize authorized billing systems, EMR platforms, tools, and knowledge resources.
• Navigate multiple systems concurrently while assisting patients.
• Comply with documentation, privacy, and security standards.
• Ensure adherence to schedules and maintain consistent availability during assigned hours.
• Complete all required client-mandated training.
• Engage in ongoing uptraining and cross-training initiatives.
• Uphold HIPAA regulations, confidentiality standards, and security protocols.
• Exhibit professionalism, accountability, and a patient-centered approach in all interactions.
• Experience in customer service or call center roles is required.
• Preferably have experience in healthcare billing, insurance, or claims.
• Experience in payment processing or financial transactions is preferred.
• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Technical proficiency with EMR systems and standard computer applications is essential.
• Ability to work independently in a remote or virtual setting.
• Must possess the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• A background check is mandatory in compliance with applicable laws.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
• Possess analytical problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
• A solid grasp of healthcare billing and insurance concepts is essential.
• Ability to convey complex billing information in a manner that is friendly and understandable for patients.
• Comfortable with operating multiple systems and tools concurrently.
• Organized, self-motivated, and possess a collaborative work approach.
• Starting pay of $15/hr with an additional shift differential of $1/hr for nights and weekends.
• Paid training, typically lasting 2 weeks.
• Full-time position with eligibility for benefits starting on the first of the month after 60 days.
