This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +24 more states.
β’ Process patient payments via phone in accordance with financial responsibility policies.
β’ Establish, modify, and uphold payment plans.
β’ Ensure the accuracy of transactions, thorough documentation, and data integrity.
β’ Interpret and clarify claim notes, balances, and billing outcomes.
β’ Verify, audit, and refresh insurance information.
β’ Input or modify insurance data within the EMR and resubmit pending or corrected claims.
β’ Educate patients regarding coordination of benefits, deductibles, coinsurance, copays, timely filing, and claim denials.
β’ Identify discrepancies and collaborate with internal teams to address billing issues.
β’ Investigate account histories to identify the causes of billing or payment-related concerns.
β’ Recommend resolutions and next steps that align with company policies.
β’ Navigate through billing systems, EMR platforms, tools, and knowledge resources.
β’ Comply with documentation, privacy, security, and HIPAA regulations.
β’ Maintain adherence to schedules and availability during designated hours.
β’ Complete required client training and engage in uptraining and cross-training.
β’ Deliver professional, accountable, empathetic, and patient-centered service.
β’ Previous experience in customer service or call center roles is required.
β’ Strongly preferred experience in healthcare billing, insurance, or claims processing.
β’ Preferred experience in payment processing or financial transactions.
β’ High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
β’ Proficient in EMR systems and standard computer applications.
β’ Ability to work independently in a remote or virtual setting.
β’ Must possess the ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
β’ A background check is required in accordance with applicable laws.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
β’ Strong analytical problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail are necessary.
β’ Solid understanding of healthcare billing and insurance principles.
β’ Capable of clearly articulating complex billing information in a manner understandable to patients.
β’ Comfortable working across multiple systems and tools concurrently.
β’ Organized, self-motivated, and collaborative approach to work is expected.
β’ Shift differential of an additional $1/hour for night and weekend shifts.
β’ Paid training, typically lasting 2 weeks.
β’ Full-time position, consisting of 40 hours.
β’ Eligible for benefits starting on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
