
Vice President, Transformation Services – Epic Optimization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Drive the strategic direction, roadmap, and implementation for enhancing clients’ Epic electronic health record platform.
• Define and take ownership of the Epic optimization and transformation strategy along with a multi-year roadmap.
• Lead interdisciplinary teams of Epic analysts, application coordinators, and consultants across various Epic modules.
• Mentor and expand a high-performing, diverse team.
• Evaluate Epic configuration and workflows to uncover opportunities for improving revenue yield, accelerating cash flow, reducing denials, enhancing productivity, and enriching user and patient experiences.
• Oversee the design, construction, testing, and deployment of Epic enhancements, upgrades, and new module implementations.
• Collaborate with revenue cycle leadership to convert KPIs into Epic-driven workflow, automation, and analytics enhancements while quantifying the financial impact.
• Establish governance, change control, and prioritization processes for Epic build requests and transformation initiatives.
• Act as the executive point of contact and technical authority for clients, delivering status updates, strategic recommendations, and executive presentations.
• Analyze system performance, adoption, and workflow trends, recommending corrective measures as necessary.
• Develop and manage program budgets, resource plans, and vendor partnerships.
• Keep abreast of Epic releases, functionalities, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Mentor and nurture team members to enhance Epic optimization capabilities.
• Assist Business Development with Epic assessments, solution design, opportunity identification, project scoping, and client presentations.
• Stay informed about healthcare issues and regulations while adhering to organizational policies.
• Set realistic goals and priorities that align with the organizational objectives.
• Safeguard and utilize patients’ PHI in compliance with HIPAA standards and adhere to Information Security and HIPAA policies.
• A BS in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field is required; an MBA, MHA, or equivalent advanced degree is highly preferred.
• Over 10 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare IT leadership roles, demonstrating significant expertise in leading Epic implementation, optimization, or transformation initiatives is required.
• Epic certification(s) or proficiency in one or more Epic applications (e.g., Resolute HB/PB, Cadence, Prelude, EpicCare, Grand Central) is strongly preferred.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, cross-functional Epic optimization or transformation projects with measurable operational and financial outcomes.
• Strong understanding of revenue cycle operations, clinical workflows, and the impact of Epic configuration on reimbursement, denials, and patient experiences.
• Familiarity with governmental, legal, and regulatory requirements related to healthcare data, billing, and EHR utilization.
• Ability to comprehend complex system configurations and reimbursement structures and apply them to workflow design.
• Experience with program and project management methodologies, governance, and change management practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Capability to influence and collaborate within complex, matrixed organizations.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Excellent problem-solving and creative skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
• High integrity and dependability, combined with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.
