This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee property tax consulting, assessment reviews, valuations, incentives, and appeal projects for a varied client base.
β’ Act as the main point of contact for clients on a daily basis, fostering trusted relationships and managing expectations throughout the engagement process.
β’ Create engagement strategies and supervise the execution from planning to final delivery.
β’ Analyze complex property valuations, assessment analyses, modeling, appeal support, and client outputs.
β’ Discover opportunities for property tax savings, identify assessment risks, and provide strategic recommendations to clients.
β’ Handle multiple simultaneous engagements while managing timelines, budgets, staffing, and ensuring quality control.
β’ Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including executive leadership teams, of client organizations.
β’ Work collaboratively with colleagues across various service lines to aid broader transaction and advisory engagements.
β’ Guide, mentor, and assist Associates and Senior Associates through technical reviews, feedback, and professional development.
β’ Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training efforts within the practice.
β’ Play a role in proposal development, thought leadership, and initiatives aimed at market presence.
β’ Recognize opportunities to enhance client relationships and contribute to the ongoing growth of the Property Tax practice.
β’ Remain updated on new property tax legislation, assessment methods, valuation trends, and industry advancements.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Law, Business, or a related field.
β’ 6-10 years of progressive experience in property tax consulting, assessment appeals, valuation advisory, state and local tax, or a related field.
β’ Proven experience in managing complex property tax engagements and nurturing client relationships.
β’ Strong knowledge of property valuation methods, assessment practices, appeal procedures, and jurisdictional property tax regulations.
β’ Demonstrated capability to juggle multiple projects and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
β’ Experience in reviewing the work of junior professionals while providing technical guidance and coaching.
β’ Excellent analytical, research, problem-solving, and communication skills.
β’ Superior written and verbal presentation abilities, with a knack for translating complex technical issues into practical business solutions.
β’ Experience in a Big 4 firm, national consulting, appraisal, or specialized property tax advisory setting is highly preferred.
β’ Professional certifications such as CMI, CPA, ASA, MAI, CRE, JD, or equivalent are considered advantageous.
β’ Experience in supporting clients in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, industrial, renewable energy, or other asset-intensive industries is highly desirable.
β’ Willingness to travel across Canada and the United States as needed.
