This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Design and implement a comprehensive, organization-wide talent strategy that aligns with M+R’s mission, values, business objectives, and future requirements.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to evaluate talent needs, pinpoint essential skills, and formulate strategies for attracting, retaining, developing, and deploying talent.
• Set talent priorities, workforce plans, and establish measurable objectives.
• Create and sustain leadership and talent pipelines, which include succession planning for critical and hard-to-fill positions.
• Utilize workforce and talent data, organizational insights, and industry trends to recognize risks, gaps, and opportunities.
• Lead and cultivate staffing, recruitment, and talent development teams.
• Provide guidance to senior leaders on talent management, workforce dynamics, culture, organizational effectiveness, and change management.
• Advocate for equity, inclusion, belonging, and psychological safety throughout the employee journey.
• Assess and enhance talent practices, systems, and technologies.
• Supervise talent acquisition, staffing operations, and workforce planning initiatives.
• Develop staffing models, capacity plans, talent pipelines, and workforce projections.
• Enhance recruiting strategies, strengthen the employer brand, and articulate the employee value proposition.
• Set talent acquisition metrics to enhance hiring quality, retention, candidate experience, and workforce outcomes.
• Formulate strategies for leadership development, career advancement, talent mobility, performance management, and succession planning.
• Identify future organizational capabilities and cultivate them internally.
• Implement talent review and succession planning frameworks.
• Design career pathways that promote retention, engagement, internal mobility, and long-term growth.
• Encourage continuous learning, accountability, performance, and professional development.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive HR/People experience, with at least 10 years in leadership positions.
• Proven experience in developing and executing organization-wide People and Culture strategies that are aligned with business priorities.
• Proficient in areas such as talent acquisition, workforce planning, employee engagement, talent development, performance management, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness.
• Experience providing counsel to executive and senior leaders regarding people, culture, workforce, and organizational issues.
• Demonstrated capability to lead and develop high-performing People teams while creating scalable programs and processes.
• Proven track record of leading organizational change and facilitating new structures, processes, and work methodologies.
• Strong commitment to promoting equity, inclusion, belonging, and psychologically safe work environments.
• Solid business acumen and analytical abilities, including leveraging workforce data to guide decisions and assess impacts.
• Experience in managing budgets, HR technology, vendors, and external partnerships.
• Background in overseeing leadership development, career pathways, employee growth, and succession strategies.
• Proven experience leading organization-wide culture and engagement initiatives such as retreats, conferences, team-building activities, and employee events.
• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, facilitation, and influencing capabilities, combined with sound judgment and discretion.
• Experience within mission-driven, nonprofit, advocacy, or professional services organizations.
• Familiarity working in unionized environments.
• Demonstrated dedication to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
• Ability to work collaboratively and build trust through honesty, integrity, kindness, empathy, and authenticity.
• Sharp attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• Familiarity with HR and ATS systems, preferably Lever, Trakstar, and Rippling.
