This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Establish partnerships with physicians and define the growth strategy for the Division.
• Oversee the clinical, financial, and operational performance of a portfolio valued at approximately $300M.
• Create a unified vision for the Division and ensure that the necessary personnel and operational processes are in place.
• Promote a culture focused on people, success, and accountability within the organization.
• Attract, recruit, retain, motivate, and guide the operations team.
• Ensure effective governance at the board level and participate in board meetings as required.
• Report on regulatory matters, ASC industry developments, lobbying activities, and pertinent updates regarding health systems, physician practice management, and private equity relationships.
• Contribute to the development of people, professional growth, and management strategies for the Division.
• Supervise Directors of Operations and offer strategic direction for operational excellence.
• Collaborate with the SVP to implement initiatives aimed at enhancing regional partner relations and center management.
• Mentor DOOs and center leaders in fostering provider relationships.
• Communicate corporate initiatives and devise implementation plans alongside DOOs.
• Oversee the continuous improvement of quality, operational efficiency, cost management, risk management, regulatory compliance, teammate engagement and retention, provider engagement, and growth strategies.
• Formulate and execute the Division's portfolio strategy.
• Maintain partnerships with health system joint ventures, physician partnerships, and physician practice management MSOs.
• Collaborate with the SVP and business development leadership to develop the Division's business planning and growth strategies.
• Detect new regional opportunities within communities and among payers.
• Manage physician relationships and address their growth requirements.
• Promote organic growth and strategic initiatives.
• Increase same-store and Division volume and revenue.
• Assist with due diligence for new center acquisition opportunities.
• Guide DOOs and center leaders through business development due diligence.
• Represent AMSURG to key stakeholders and uphold strong physician partnerships.
• Advocate for the clinician value proposition and Patient-Centered-Care.
• Promote and facilitate the adoption of strategic initiatives.
• Provide AMSURG advocacy updates to provider partners.
• Actively participate as a member of the Partnership Board of Directors.
• Manage the financial performance of the Division's portfolio.
• Develop financial reports, quarterly forecasts, and budgeting models.
• Assist with managed care messaging throughout the Division.
• Review the Division's portfolio, formulate the Division budget, and support operations leaders with center-level budgets.
• Manage and challenge portfolio and growth targets.
• Report any suspected compliance violations and prohibited activities.
• Lead less senior operations leaders during crises.
• Assess crises situations, leverage resources, develop and communicate action plans, conduct debriefs, identify root causes, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Proven leadership experience with a history of driving team success and meeting organizational objectives.
• Demonstrated capability to identify and address opportunities or challenges independently.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with physicians, staff members, and external customers.
• Strong management abilities to oversee complex projects and multiple priorities.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable presenting to senior management, boards, community divisions, and physicians.
• Proven ability to take initiative and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity within a highly matrixed organization.
• Demonstrated growth mindset and dedication to continuous learning and self-improvement.
• Capability to embrace challenges, learn from feedback, and adapt to changing situations.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time, with an average travel commitment of 40–60%.
• Home base in Nashville, DFW, Chicago, or Atlanta.
• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field, and/or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in healthcare operations management.
• Extensive leadership experience in healthcare operations within a multi-state integrated healthcare delivery system.
• Experience managing a direct P&L responsibility with revenue exceeding $100M.
