Vice President, Biostatistics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver strategic statistical leadership at the enterprise level and provide oversight across designated programs and the wider Biostatistics function.

• Foster cross-functional collaboration, enhance quantitative decision-making, and develop strategies for various programs.

• Supervise Contract Research Organizations (CROs) effectively.

• Cultivate and mentor statisticians and emerging leaders.

• Assume the role of Head of Biostatistics as required.

• Offer executive-level leadership in strategy encompassing design, analysis/synthesis, interpretation and reporting, health authority response, publication strategy, and quantitative decision-making.

• Lead collaborations at the senior level with clinical, regulatory, and other strategic functions.

• Provide strategic oversight and direction for staff and CROs to ensure high-quality study deliverables.

• Take the lead or sponsor the development and review of Policies, SOPs, and controlled documentation.

• Contribute senior strategic statistical insights in regulatory documents and scientific publications.

• Direct the data generation strategy for podium presentations and discussions with payors.

• Influence team development, succession planning, departmental strategy, and functional strategy.

• Represent the organization in scientific advancements within the field.

• Undertake other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field, or a Master's degree with substantial experience.

• A minimum of 14 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a PhD, or 15 years with a Master's degree.

• Practical experience with CDISC standards and programming utilizing raw datasets, SDTM, and ADaM datasets.

• Over 10 years of management experience, including leadership roles involving senior technical talent and people managers.

• Hands-on knowledge of both common and advanced statistical methodologies.

• Strong understanding of SAS programming concepts and techniques used within the pharmaceutical industry.

• Proficient in tools such as SAS, EAST, and nQuery.

• Familiarity with global regulatory requirements concerning novel endpoints and rare diseases is advantageous.

• Willingness to travel less than 5% of the time.
